David Ducker Licensing as a Licensed Lay Minister (Reader)
October 6th, 2018

What an amazing occasion took place at Southwell Minster as David Ducker was admitted and licensed by the Bishop of Southwell and Nottingham, the Rt Revd Paul Williams, as a Licensed Lay Minister within the Church of England.  In addition to a number of legal and formal activities within the service, David gave a short account of his vocational calling to this new role.  We very much look forward to his future ministry with great expectation, and wish him every blessing as he seeks to do God’s will.

This years Welcome Service included a number of outstanding items: musical, poetic, Bible readings, prayers and a talk, during which each new ‘Starter’ was presented with their own Bible by the Chair of Governors, Mrs Cindy Jones.  It was a very enjoyable and moving occasion, which was followed by a marvellous cooked breakfast in the Church Centre for all those able to stay, cooked by parents and other members of the Friends group.  What a brilliant start to each child’s Primary School career.

Hemlock Happening

June 9th, 2018

What a fantastic time we had in the sun at Bramcote Hills Park for this year’s Hemlock Happening.  In addition to the usual sale of strawberries and Cream and Traidcraft stall, there was a mini-Messy Church featuring: Face Painting, T-Shirt decoration, Bubble tubs, Biscuit decoration and much much more.  The whole afternoon saw the local community coming together in fun and celebration.
