Silver Surfers: Companionship, cake and computers

The Silver Surfer project is run by a group of volunteers seeking to provide a safe social environment where older members of the local community can meet together to explore many of the possibilities provided by accessing the internet; email, browsing, Zoom etc.

When and where do we meet?

  • We meet in the Church Centre
  • Every Thursday afternoon
  • 1pm to 3pm
  • £3 per session (refreshments included)
  • We also serve a simple lunch from 12.30pm for £1

What can I expect?

We are a friendly, social group providing support for the use of devices such as laptops, tablets and mobile phones. If you have something like this you would like help with, please call in and see if we can assist.

Do you need any more support?

We would also love to welcome anyone who would like to join us as a coach; you don’t need to be an expert, friendly and helpful will do.

Where can I find more details?

  1. Hi. Please can you tell me if the Silver Surfers are open to newcomers. My sister is very keen to come and join you. I have found these details on the web page for St Michael’s and hope that we will be able to meet you all soon. Thank you for your assistance. Best regards. Jane Potts
